From being spent many years in school, being familiar with everything, having many friends there and being teachers’ favorite, you move to a place where you are new, you do not know anyone and you have to start from the scratch. Many departments in the university have prize competitions. Do not hesitate to apply. The competition might not be as bad as you think. At least give it a try. Even if you win a very small prize, that could be a real confidence booster for you
